Clergy

Shortly after completing his doctoral degree, Mallard was blessed with an opportunity to return to Uniontown to practice dentistry, thus founding George Dental Associates in 1978.  Throughout his career, Mallard was recognized by several professional organizations and also actively served the community in various capacities.  

At St. George Church, Mallard has served as the President of the Parish Council, as well as the Chairman of the Finance Committee.  


Mallard resides in Uniontown with his wife of 36 years, Donna.  Together they have one daughter, Lauren.  He enjoys reading, playing golf, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Mallory. 

Subdeacon Mallard George

Upon his retirement after practicing dentistry in Uniontown, PA for 33 years, Dr. Mallard T. George was ordained a subdeacon at St. George Maronite Catholic Church on October 26, 2014. 

Mallard is a 1973 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.  He then pursued Graduate Studies in Bacteriology at West Virginia University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Temple University's School of Dentistry.  After graduation, Mallard continued his studies at Temple University in the Post Doctoral Fixed Prosthedontics program. 

Subdeacon Thomas R. George

“Duke”, as he is affectionately known, has faithfully served the parish of St. George since his ordination as subdeacon on May 23, 1993.

He is a graduate of Waynesburg College with a Bachelor degree in Education and also a graduate of West Virginia University with a Masters of Arts in Special Education. He taught 40 years in public schools, served on the parish council, taught religious education and was honored with the Silver Massabki medal award in 2000.

On August 18, 2013, the parish of St. George gratefully recognized Subdeacon T.R. George for his 20 years of service to our parish.

He is married to the former Amy Michael and they are the parents of 6 children and 11 grandchildren.

Reverend Father Sami Chaaya, M.L.M.

Father Sami is a Maronite priest from the Congregation of Maronite Lebanese Missionaries (MLM). He was ordained in 2006 and served in Lebanon, South Africa, and The Caribbean Islands before being assigned to the United States. After serving the Maronite community in Oklahoma for two years, Father Sami is now the pastor of St. George Maronite Church, Uniontown, PA.

Father Sami studied in the Pontifical University of the Holy Spirit, Lebanon and also at the Salesian University in Rome. His favorite book is The Little Prince and his favorite saint is St. Teresa of Avila.
